Public Media Center, a nonprofit advocacy agency for social change worldwide, designs heavy-hitting ads for display or airing in prominent news media on such wide-ranging issues as environmental protection, cultural and biological diversity, sustainable development, human rights, social justice, democratic empowerment, and corporate accountability. The Center does advocacy exclusively for nonprofit, public interest groups concerned with progressive issues; its primary goal is giving people information, enabling them to make thoughtful decisions and take action; creates print and electronic ads directed at target audiences on behalf of human rights, social justice, community action, environmental protection, cultural and biological diversity, sustainable development, corporate responsibility, equality for women, and other progressive causes; and works with nonprofits in education and outreach efforts, communicating their values and objectives as well as helping them recruit members, volunteers, and financial supporters. Their emphasis is on ongoing, in-depth campaigns, proactive agenda setting, and adequate budgeting for public education in the form of advertising, media, and communications.
