This public opinion research firm uses empirical research to
position issues and organizations. They provide high-level quantitative
and qualitative research to explore what kinds of information
and images help shift public opinion or encourage people to
take a new look at a subject. As a strategic firm, their ultimate
job is persuasion. EDK's campaigns begin with an understanding
of the public's point of view. They then work with their client
to develop themes and strategies that bring people closer to
their client's position on the issue. Focus groups and public
opinion surveys are the main tools for designing message campaigns.
The firm has a strong background in violence prevention, early
childhood education, globalization, and working family and women's
issues. EDK president Ethel Klein is a former professor of political
science at both Harvard and Columbia Universities. Specialties
include communications, evaluation of programs, research, and
strategic planning.
